Ramblings from a Baggy-Arse Army Clerk during those hazy, crazy days of the Vietnam War

REVIEWS AND FEEDBACK - I would love to get your comments/feedback/reviews and will list them here.  Please send them to shortys.book@optusnet.com.au  I tried to have a guestbook page but I keep getting information about Viagra and rich, dead  and forgotten relatives who have left me millions.  Just who told these people about my need for Viagra anyway?

Shorty brings to life the trials and tribulations of a junior NCO stationed with the Australians during the Vietnam war.  Although assigned to Infantry Corps, Shorty served as a clerk with 161 Aviation Squadron.  His book brought back heaps of memories, as it will for any soldier stationed with the Australian Task Force.  Many Australians are reflecting on the service and deeds of our young men who served in Vietnam and this book provides a very humorous look at one soldier's war experience

Hello "Shorty". You might remember me. GD Nui Dat ' 67 - ' 68,

.      Hi Bill, good to hear from you - and yes I do remember you - red hair, good looking, highly skilled
and talented and TALL - you BASTARD - fond regards. Shorty.

I really enjoyed reading the book - got a few laughs and brought back some memories, too.  Could you please send me another copy?  I've got a friend who was in the Army reserve for a number of years and I plan to give him a copy to show that there's a lighter side to military life!

The Gestetner worked fine when I was there - so far as I recall - so seems that you got it working properly.   It's main use was for the pay guy (Mills Lafferty) to produce a racing tip sheet every week.  This used up so much paper there was never any left over for anything else!

Hi Shorty,

Just wanted to let you know I have finished reading "Ho Chi Minh Johnsy & I" I thoroughly enjoyed it and I could not put it down till I had finished it.

Brought back a lot of fond memories.  Do you recall the time you and " others" duck taped to the flag pole?  I do.

Regards
Johnny Wilson( Wacker)

It never happened to me Wacker - I think it only happened to the ugly guys.  Shorty.

Shorty,

As I expected, it was a really good read.

Bought back a lot of memories and revealed a few happenings of which I was unaware.

The gestetner matter was a revelation.

I would have happily backed up any DVA claim by Johnsy.

I agree totally that George was one of the best!

Hope that you sell a lot more.

Cheers  - Phil Roberts
